Dear Friends of Schweitzer,
As we prepare to launch our winter season here, I wanted to unveil our new lifestyle real estate development at the resort: MountainSide at Schweitzer. We spent the last year putting the finishing touches on what we believe to be a truly unique opportunity at Schweitzer and we invite you to explore MountainSide this winter. With regard to the real estate market at Schweitzer, it’s safe to say that Schweitzer benefits from a significantly lower volume of speculative investment, which is helping to keep prices more stable than many other resorts in our competitive set. Most real estate owners here at Schweitzer have chosen to buy here because they are passionate about the resort and plan for many years of future enjoyment with family and friends. We define these buyers as “users” and not “investors” – again, helping to avoid speculative price inflation. If they earn a good return on their property when they eventually sell, that’s great, but it’s not generally the underlying motivation for a purchase here at Schweitzer. Consequently, prices have remained more stable than other regions or resorts around the country and now may well be a great time to consider a purchase on the mountain.
